About Me

 

 

Hello! I'm Emily Skavlen and I am a senior at the University of Wisconsin- Stevens Point studying to get my BFA in Musical Theatre!

 

The closest thing I've experienced to "love at first sight" was the day my mom brought home the cast recording to a little musical called Wicked. From that moment on, my elementary school years consisted of memorizing the all the songs and acting out the entire musical in my basement (switching from a sparkly dress to a witch Halloween costume when appropriate) and permanently instilling my love of performing.

From performing in musicals at my local church to performing on a college stage, I've always found theatre to be such an incredible art form as it fosters an environment of empathy and has the ability to showcase the sometimes wild, yet wonderful human experience.

When not on stage, I consider myself to be a lover of all things Disney, a self-proclaimed reality television connoisseur, and you can likely find me spending time with family and friends or curling up with a good book!
